Patricia Turner
Director of Partnership Services
Patricia Turner is a 13 year veteran in the marketing and advertising business. Patricia’s years of experience in the Marketing and Advertising industry has equipped her with a multitude of skills in planning, communications, marketing, sales, and time management. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an exceptional capacity for meeting organizational objectives and demands. In addition to her management skills, she is an adept sports marketer. Over the past five year, Patricia has collaborated with a number of professionals for various projects, and has planned and managed prestigious NBA camps, NFL Foundation Fundraisers, and Corporate Sporting Events.
She began her career with Eller Media Outdoor Advertising (currently Clear Channel Outdoor), as a marketing assistant, whereby she went on to hold several positions within the company. After realizing her full potential she decided to expand her media planning and buying skills by joining National Cable Communications. As the Senior Media Planner, she bought air time on several national cable channels. Patricia has served as a consultant for Carol H. Williams Advertising, where she created cross promotional and marketing campaigns for several companies such as Luster Products, UC Davis Medical Center, AT&T, GMC and Coors Light. Her natural ability and keen instincts led her to start her own marketing and consulting company working with companies to secure sports marketing and branding opportunities for local and national events. Ms. Turner has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as Nike, Verizon, Starcom Worldwide, Reebok, and is a member of the Women In Sports Career Network.
Brandy Sams
Senior Project Manager
Brandy Sams is a dynamic young professional that was raised in Oakland, CA for much of her life. Being one of five children Brandy’ parents were determined to make sure that all of their children were able to utilize as many resources as possible in the Bay Area to excel in life. In the summer they attended summer camps at the Black Repertory Theatre and Defermery Park, participated in Young Layers of America, Shakespearian theatre companies, YMCA and was a proud member of the Oakland library. She attended local public and private schools in Oakland graduating with honors and pursing her dreams through her college experience.
Originally wanting to be an attorney Brandy found that she had a real knack for business one day when she was asked to negotiate a venue to host a local college party while attending UC Berkeley. This sparked a new found love for managing projects and negotiating contracts.
Being proud of who she is, respecting others, never losing a passion for learning and sharing knowledge are not just concepts to Brandy Sams they are a way of life that has been instilled in her since birth. Along with an entrepreneurial spirit and an unyielding drive; Brandy Sams has forged a successful career in organizational and project management that has spanned more than 15 years. During her career, Brandy has successfully managed more than 10,000 transactions in over 35 states, she volunteers at church and for an organization called Operation Hope which partners with large corporations to teach financial literacy to high school students in low income neighborhoods. “Giving back to the community does more to feed my soul than any award or accolade that I can ever be given”
Most recently Brandy worked as Director of Operations for the National Default Division of WFG Title Insurance Company where she was responsible for managing the direction of the National Default Division. This includes but was not limited to overseeing daily operations of all departments, budget implementation, human resources, client relations, training and more. Prior to that Brandy gained invaluable skills managing networking for Fannie Mae. “She communicates with her clients at an unparalleled level and excels at bridging potential gaps between parties, making her an ideal addition for WFG’s default services clients.” says Morgan Harris, a Executive Vice President at WFG.
With advanced degrees in both Business and Project Management, Brandy has helped several companies improve efficiency, lower cost while maintaining product integrity and excellent customer service. Recently returning from working several years both out of state and abroad Brandy Sams has partnered with the Bay Area Black Expo as Sr Project Manager. In her role Brandy will be responsible for managing community based projects throughout the year.
